that yummy sound

Photobucket

Its that familiar piece of childhood, that nostalgic tune that time warps me back to being 7 with my bare feet on the hot pavement and .25 in my hand, that stuck-in-your-head-all-day sound of the ice cream truck coming down the street that sends us in panic mode to get to the curb. I decided that we were *not* attempting the park yesterday and we were going to stick to the backyard. Well, imagine the freak out when they heard that truck, Backyard what? We saw the truck coming down the street, then it turned up a side street, so we waited.Moses will NOT let go of his "misser brown canmoocanmoo" so they read together patiently, and when I say they, I am so pleased to point out that its Moses' 1st book that he picks up and "reads" He's mad about this book! Back to the truck, it never came back......sad. I mean look at this eager pair, you've never seen kids so patient for a creamsicle. Buddy pulled up on his way home and saw us waiting, went to find the truck and got them their ice cream treat. He saved the day for sure...like always.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post. It just screams summer, and childhood, and all that's good in this world! Thanks for the smile this morning. We don't have that book, but I DO love it when they can't put a book down. Send the ice cream truck up here, we need some sweets!
