Heart Smiles

I wont sugar coat it, today was tough.Maybe it was that we missed B today. He worked a double which means he was at work at 6 am and home by about 10:30, thats a long day..for him and me. Maybe it was the looming laundry from our camping trip that called me all day..a call which I ignored..At any rate, as a mom, I didnt bring my "A"`game today. The kids and I were bored, and boredom and kids are never a good combo. So after me being shorter tempered than I like, and the kids not quite knowing what to do with themselves other than eating catfood, taking a black crayon to several white surfaces in her room, (while I was attempting to teach an important lesson of cleaning up a mess), making a band with the wooden spoons and pots, rearranging (a.k.a tearing out) pages of a newly checked out library book and way too many movies, This was what I get at the end of the night....

Isabella (yelling from her room) : I love you mom!!
Kristen: I love you too, goodnight
Isabella: :Do you know what my heart does when I say I love you Momma?
Kristen (tears are starting to swell) No, what?
Isabella: My Heart smiles Momma.

Being a parent is just so sweet, Iwould have a million days like today, if only just to remind me how loving and forgiving my little ones are of their mom on`days such as this.

Cant wait! I think anyone and everyone who is as excited about this as I am, needs to come to my house on Thursday..8:45 Sharp! I'll make something McYummy!

No Reservations

What a fantastic evening! We went to M&S Grill for Dinner, what a treat! Not only was the service great, but nothing on the menu required me to order with a "I'll have the Number 2 please". We must have a GNO dessert night there, they had a dessert sampler that looked Divine, including a Creme Brulee for all Brulee fans. Thanks to Buddy, he thought it was high time we saw A movie of my choosing..so off we went to see No reservations. I thought it was going to be a romantic comedy....wrong. I was in for an hour and a half of on and off tears, but only because I cant stand to see little kids sad because of the loss of a parent (Dont worry, I didnt ruin it, its in all the previews I promise). It ended great though and the music gave me inspiration for some kids home movie making..really fun stuff! And to top the night off, we didnt have to pay for a babysitter! (thank you Rob, Carla and Dorie!!)

Heres to 9 years! (15 if you count when we met at 16)

At work today, Buddy was asked why he had to have tommorow off. When he said it was because of his anniversary, everyone wanted to know how many years. Turns out most everyone is divorced, and whats more, a few people each had 3- 4 marriages that didnt even total 9 years. It is interesting to me how much more common it is becoming (or maybe Im just realizing ) that marriage is not esteemed to be such a valuable and longlasting endeavor. I for one am so thankful that my marriage does not fit that mold! I think I will save my sappy words for the card :) Heres to 9 years B..I love you.

whos that girl!?

Whomever decided to go to Albertsons tonight at about 11:00 made an excellent, (or not so excellent) choice as they got quite the show! For some reason, every musac song playing seemed to be my favorite, and I was singing like I do in the shower, except Im sure a few more people may have heard me tonight. I even busted out a few of my best dance moves, typically reserved for the very fortunate only (Buddy and the kids) There was " Dancing on the Ceiling" "Circles in the Sand" and my favorite "Dont you want me baby" :) I just felt so happy to be at the grocery store by myself! I even got to pick up a few magazines to parooze before buying them ..it was a great night at Albertsons tonight, I had to tell you about it!

Air time

We went to the Clark county fair this summer with Isabella's cousin Brenna. There was such a great little jazz/rag band there that the girls just LOVED...too bad my camera didnt have enough space for all the booty shakin they were doing after the got out of the stroller!!. They used these pirate masks they got at a booth to make some "music: of their own..love it love it!

Its been a watery one

Summer that is. Although I could also be referring to my eyes as well whenever I think about the fun and memorable times Ive spent with the ones I love this summer. As hard as it as been for us, I am thankful that things worked out the way they did and I have been home and able to do so many fun things with the kids. I love the time spent with my family...and my friends. Heres to welcoming Fall, which is delightful as well!

its midnight, Buddy and I have a problem we are trying to work out yet I cant stop laughing..why you may ask? Lloyd and Harry of course! Laugh if you will, but I guarantee this may be the funniest of all movies..(to us anway) Everytime we face something that has the potential to be seriously depressing, one of us always quotes this and it SO lightens things up..hee hee, I think I may be quoting Lloyd more often. this pays homage to our good old boys.. Heres to our pets heads never falling off and finding humor in lifes challenges!
