My wonderfull works of art!

The Kids woke up early this morning so we watched cartoons for a little bit. Apparently I must have dozed off for a moment, couldnt have been any more than a minute or two. I heard them laughing and singing in their room. I thought, wow, what a sweet and wonderful way to start the morning on such a happy note..................

So this is how it played out once I walked in their room.

Mom: Gasp! Oh my gosh (slight laugh) This is a NO NO.

Bella: Mom, dont you love my Pocahontas tattoo's? I think I look just like her.

Mom: Wow, you sure do.....Just a second
(I run to grab my camera)

Okay, look at mommy you guys...click click click (kids smiling, laughing)
(I put my camera down)

Mom: Okay, seriously, this is a NO NO! We wont get to play with markers anymore unless you ask mommy, This is not good.

Hows that for a mixed msg? I'm not sure they took me seriously, Cant say I beleive myself, It was quite the funny scene.

The *Mis*-adventures of the Mo man

Oh yeah, dont let his devlish good looks fool you, he' s up to something alright....

This is a child locked drawer. "Child Locked" used very loosly of course.

We need to get him some black ray-bans.

Caught ya! He is not supposed to be on the desk! He pushes play on the CD player and before you know it, we hear Boo the Dog barkin' up some scripture song (all you Scripture scouts fan know what Im talking about!)

Need I mention the art supplies he so lovlingly destroys. Good thing we have enough.

Why we cant ever find our DVD's anymore. Gotta love this kid.

**update** My mom hillariously pointed out tonight he was into lipstick and pink sunglasses , It made me think....and I should note that he really is one macho dude, he's just going through a little identity crises at the moment, you know, with a 4 year old sister to play with, I can see how that might happen. Hopefully I can get a picture of him ramming a truck into the wall, yeah, that will be nice and dude-ly.

Never Quite Prepared

When I learned tonight of Dear President Hinkley's passing my first inclination was to cry, but then I thought what a glorious meeting must be taking place tonight and I felt grateful for a prophet on the earth. I just wanted to share a few of my favorites, among many, of President Hinkleys words in honor of this beloved and wonderful man. Buddy commented tonight that it is the only prophet he has known since being baptized so its just a bitter sweet thing to think of him in fondness tonight.

"Read to your children from the scriptures. They will not understand all that you read, but they will have a feeling in thier hearts of something good and true and precious"

On being Idle:

"Without hard work, nothing grows but weeds"

On using our talents to bless others:

" I do not have to be a scrub, though my work may be menial. Though my contribution may be small, I can perform it with dignity and offer it with unselfishness. My talents may not be great, but I can use them to bless the lives of others"

On All of children of God:

" There is no need in any land for conflict between diverse groups of any kind. Let there be taught in the homesof people that we are all children of God, our eternal father, and that as surely as their is fatherhood,. there can and must be brotherhood."

Thoughtfull Thursday

I call it thougtfull because my dear grandmother played "mom" to the kids today. I was working (more on that later) and Buddy had class. She read stories, read books, played on the floor with them, fed them lunch, changed diapers, put Mose down for a nap..successfully, which is a feat in itself these days...and most thoughtfull of all, said she loved every minute of it with a smile on her face..how I love this woman. And I have to say what I am thinking....IF ONLY I had a photo of the days happenings..aw well, a visual memory will suffice perfectly.

I started working for a mortgage servicing company, I started yesterday. I am so grateful for work. I feel thankful that I can be a support to our family while Buddy is in school. I know what I do is important for our family, however, I have this inner most conflict that reares its ugly head at the most inconvieniant times when I am trying to be positive! When I get up for work in the morning, I just feel so sad that I wont see the kids for the day. Like tonight for example, I left the office at 5, traffic was a nightmare and didnt get home until 6:15, Moses went to bed at 7. Needless to say, I sang him to sleep in my arms and loved every minute of it. I dont mean to be a Debbie Downer, most days are better than today and I know the kids are happy well looked after (especially today), its just their mom misses them terribly! ( and it looks like they really miss me too doesnt it! :) ..just kidding, I know they do! As Noriene would say: Just be positive and count your blessings...boy, do I.

A delightful interpretation

Utah has changed me. Perhaps I should say a move has changed me. There is something to be said about a new environment, a new start if you will. As much as I would have loved to stay in Oregon, and look forward to going back, I am so happy that we have new surroundings, a fresh, bright new start to the year to work on things that should have long been worked on. Buddy laughs, but I seriously beleive that apartment of ours was draining the life out of me..I cant explain it, I just felt it....weird.All of the sudden, I am cooking up a storm, fixing something new and exciting every day .. whats more is that my family actually thinks its edible..and they like it! :) (thank you girlfriends cookbook!) All of the sudden, I feel like taking walks, in the snow no doubt! and its refreshing and such a boost! and most fantastic of all, I feel excited about family home evening and look forward to it instead of another thing I have to organize and try to get my kids to listen to when all they want to do is play and scream. Which brings me to this little delightfull peice of art. Last nights lesson was on Lehi's dream, we read it, talked about it, and she illustrated it. She did draw a few too many strait and narrow paths because she said one path wasnt enough for all the people. And dont you love Lehi's little smiley face family? I especially love her rendering of the mists of darkness, but my favorite part is the "Ha Ha". She doesnt want to be like "those guys" in the building, she wants to "eat fruit all day and watch Hannah Montana" next weeks lesson...idolness.

The coolest 83 year old on the planet

My grandma. All of you know, but I cant say it enought, she is SO awesome and I ADORE her. I have a million photos I could post of her, but these are the only ones readily at my typing fingertips. Here are just a few of the reasons why I adore and look up to her so much...(the list could go on and on, I have tried to narrow it down to 13, very hard!)

1. She eats pie for breakfast.

2. Whenever the kids are being a little routy (my kids? never!) she laughingly says " I need to take my hearing aids out" Isnt that fabulous!

3. She uses words like "share-zees" and "your a little pistol!" (about Mose, which he is)

4. She is the most selfless person I know.

5. She makes the best homemade bread and Hootenanny (german) pancakes known to man.

6. Her social life is crazy busy. She is part of 2 bookclubs, she volunteers to run the poll books for the utah elections, she does church extraction work, she picks up friends for their various appts, she hosts luncheons just for the fun of it, etc, etc.

7. She does Tai Chi for seniors......and really wants me to do it with her.

8. She says things I usually say such as "I need to call my ladies and see when we can all go out to lunch" (awh!)

9. A friend was recently gushing her thank you's to my grandma for taking her to the hospital. My grandma said " Now, Now, This is what friends do, there is no need to thank me."

10. She appologizes for stupid drivers.

11. She only has one leg, and just had the good leg operated on last year. Shes like the energizer bunny, she just keeps going, and I couldnt be more thankful for it. She is determined, smart, an encyclopedia and much much more.

12. She thinks you arent a good Mormon if you dont vote rebuplican....which she says through a smile, (please dont be offended, shes halfway kidding :) I told her I was voting dem this year :)

13. She loves a good party.

Is blogging your form of a journal?

I know mine is. I swore the day would not come that I would ever stop keeping a journal. However, after mine, both kids and the family journals to keep updated, I figured it was time to think outside of the box. Enter Phoebe, who on one particular girls night out, (when a certain someone had to go to the hospital, no doubletdly because she spent the day making her house gorgeous and fixing a meal for 7 while 9 months pregnant!) where was I....Oh yes, Phoebe introduced us to the wonderful world of blogging, and form that day on, It has been my newest form of journaling. Well, to my absolute delight, I was reading HERE (love her blog!) and learned about BLURB

I am so excited that I can now print my blog rambleings and keep them forever ! I know there are other companies out there, but this one looks like the coolest!

And what is a post without a picture..eh? This child gets into more mischief than Harry Potter! (sorry, Im watching it, and its the only witty thing I can come up with at midnight!)

Just two new favorite pictures

I know, I know, I'm inundating you with pictures, but its just whats keeping me busy these days. Isabella has been keeping us laughing, and I've been able to get a rare photo of Moses without that green monster hanging out of his mouth, I do love his smile. Here are a few conversations as of late...

(looking at Great Gma's jewelry box..)

This one is from Jerusalem, Grandma paid money for it..when Jesus was born.
This was is from Jerusalem too…
OOOHH and this one is very special, its from ZCMI!

(regarding descipline: Mom and dad on trying to explain what will happen if ...)

Us: We are going to have to start taking away some privilages, things that are important to you such as (naming them off)

Long pause...

I: Don’t forget about polly pockets.

---------------------------------------------------------------
(talking about our evening schedule of things to do..)

Buddy: We cant go that late because 7:00 is moses bedtime

Isa (yelling from down the hall): "Yeah and 8, 7 central is Hannah Montana!

Look what we got!

Our very first care package from Grandma and Grandpa H! Needless to say it was a HUGE hit and we were terribly spoiled! Moses had x-ray vision for Mr. Binks on the bottom, how does he do that?

Thank you a million times over!!

Firsts

I am a child of god. I have a Father in Heaven who loves me He wants me to be happy, and wants me to return to live with him again someday.
Before we were born, we lived with Heavenly Father. The place we lived before we were born is called the Pre-Mortal World. We came to this earth to get a body and to be tested. Each of us were created in the image of Heavenly Father. This means that Heavenly Father's body looks like ours.
President Gordon B. Hinckley has said: "Never forget, my dear young friends, that you really are a child of God... He loves [you] and desires to help and bless. May life be kind to you, for you are indeed a child of God. "Just like our parents on earth, our Heavenly Father wants us to make good choices. Before we came to earth, we made the choice to follow Heavenly Father's plan instead of Satan's. We decided that we wanted to come to earth and receive a body. I am very thankful to have such a beautiful earth to live on. I know that It was created for me. I am thankful for the sunshine that keeps me warm and the plants that give me food. I am thankful for a Heavenly Father that loves us and wants us to be happy.
I know that I have a Father in Heaven. I know that he loves me and I know that I was created in his likeness. I know that if I continue to make good choices, I can live with Heavenly Father again one day.

This ones for you mom!

I dont think I need to say much except this is what he has in his hand most of the time. "Gahma"

The great (albeit *very* belated) Christmas post

I just couldnt let the Christmas pictures sit in their lonley folder on our hard drive. I know its late, but thats just how things are going these days. We are SO very glad that we stayed in Oregon for Christmas. Thank you Aunt Kim, Mom and dad for getting us to stay..we definatly DID NOT regret it!! Here are our top 8 reasons for loving this Christmas...

1. Moses could not break the lights on the tree, so he could play with them all he wanted. And he did.

2. Playing the piano with Grandma. A very pretty sound we all could enjoy.

3. Isabella's giddiness and excitement over Chapstick, a hannah montana microphone and endless packages of gum, amongst other things.

4. Moses was old enough to get excited over a toy. Very fun.

5. Putting on "Makeup" with Aunt Kim

6. Isabella's note to Santa and her look when she saw the note he wrote back..and the crumbs..and the milk gone.

7. Moses' santa helper Bum..I loved it.

8. This actually should be #1, but I'm too lazy to rearrange this post, so Ill just say..this IS the #1 reason the christmas was so great. I have a billion photos of everyone I could post, but thought this one should sum it up!
