We look forward to General conferance weekend. This is a 2 day conferance where members of our church can gather together and hear instruction and uplifting messages from our chuch leaders. When Bella was little, we tried to think of ways to help her be more interested and understand why we have these conferances. So one night when Bella was about 2, we read out of the Book of Mormon about King Benjamin preaching to the people. They gathered together in tents with the flaps open towards the tower where he would be speaking. So, Buddy and I decided we would build a grand looking tent in our living room and face the flap towards the TV and Wha-la, a tradition was born. We all look forward to this every year. I wont say it lasts for all the sessions, but we can usually get 1 sunday session out of her, which is pretty great I think :) We also make cinnamon rolls every Conferance Sunday morning, this is a TREAT as its the only time of year we make them. This is a photo of Bella pearing in her tent, this year, its under the stairs, a perfect local of her choosing. I love the expression on her face, she gets super excited...and we do to!

I love your tent idea! That's fantastic! We actually do the cinnamon rolls tradition too - and for some reason make about half a million of them when we do.

OH my gosh, your cinnamon rolls, and I wasn't invited, That is the best Idea I ever heard of. I didn't get to hear, but 2 talks the whole weekend. Brady was gone, and I couldn't get my girls to let me hear a word. And I wanted to hear things so much this time, with a new prophet and all. That is seriously the best idea i've ever heard.
You are always so creative! I can't stand it! But, I will definately try to be more like it!!!!

What a great idea and tradition for your kids! I'm afraid I'm not that creative....my idea was to just DVR the whole conference and then watch it when I had some alone time. Since that's hard to come by, I still haven't watched the whole thing yet. :(
