Me?

Last week we went to the Draper Temple open house. Before the tour, we were invited to watch a short video about temples. About the middle of the video, the following dialogue took place.

Video narrator: In the desert of Mount Sinae, God commanded Moses to build a temple..."

My son as loud as can be "ME?"

We laughed about it for the rest of the night. When I was pregnant with Moses, there were many people chiming on on their opinion about the name. We took it all in, it was fine. I even had some fun with it and called in to a radio show and they played our conversation on air, it was a pretty funny and interesting conversation. But my most favorite comments have been 2.

1. A co-worker, when hearing what we were going to name him thought it was pretty odd and wanted to make fun of me...or him, or whatever..

Him: "You know what every one is going to say dont you? (me: no) Hey Moses, wheres your boat!" He then starts laughing and feeling pretty darn proud of himself.

Me: Well, that would be Noah, not Moses. Good try though.

2. When Moses was being blessed in church, it was a testimony meeting. I thought I should get up there and say a few words but I procrastinated and was the last one. Afterwards, a member of our bishopric said "Far be it for me to prevent the mother of Moses from bearing her testimony"

There are SO many unique names that people are choosing these days for their babies, and I love that we went with the name Moses. To each their own right? Afterall, Gwyneth Paltrow named her baby Moses, (by the way, we had the name picked out way before Moses P was born....a story for another day)

What a cute reaction! Hyrum and Jonah haven't picked up on yet who else shares their name. I'm all for finding a name you like and using it regardless or who has used it before. Everyone is an individual. But for some I guess it would give a little expectation to live up to their name. But isn't that a good thing?
