Isabella has been asked to talk a ton in primary this past year. Her latest sweet little talk was yesterday, she is getting more comfortable with speaking and wait a minute.....actually enjoys it a litte. I love that she is becoming more comfortable! I also love when writing primary talks is so easy. I can take no credit whatsoever for this talk, I found it online and knew I could not have written anything better. And because I am always looking online for primary talks, I thought I would share on my blog...just in case anyone is like me and likes to write talks the easy way.
I AM A SPIRIT CHILD OF MY HEAVENLY FATHER
In the Proclamation on the Family it says:All human beings – male and female – are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny.
This means that Heavenly Father is the father of each of our spirits. That is why we are all brothers and sisters and why we call each other brother or sister at church.
Lots of people tell me that I look like my dad and mom. I have blue eyes like my mom does. Our hair is the same color too. I have my dads smile and my Grandpa's hands.
My body also looks like Heavenly Father’s body. In the scriptures it says, “God created man in his own image.” That means that I also look like my Heavenly Father.
The Family Proclamation also states:In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience.
This means that even though we don’t remember it, we knew and lived with Heavenly Father before we were born. When His plan was presented to us,we accepted it. I am glad that I made the right choice.
As part of His plan, we were able to get physical bodies and come to earth to learn and grow. Heavenly Father loves each of us and wants us to return to live with Him someday.I am grateful that Heavenly Father gave me a spirit body and a physical body.
I can take care of my spirit body by praying, reading the scriptures, attending church, following the prophet, keeping the commandments, being morally clean, and having faith.I am thankful that Heavenly Father created us in His image. Because we are His children, we know that we are special and that He loves us. I am grateful we have the chance to live on this earth and to progress and that we can have the blessing of eternal life someday.
