I make cookies

For the lack of anything better to post about...I make cookies.
I make cookies almost everyday. I dont really like to eat them, I just like to make them, hence the reason our freezer is full of them. I like the way they make the house smell all homey, I like how it helps me to releive stress and I like having them on hand in case someone stops by, I can send them packing. Not that anyone stops by much, Im pretty much a recluse these days...but still.
My cookie making ventures last night saved my afternoon today. Its been a hard one, I definatly dont win the mommy of the day award the past few days, but, the cookies and milk this afternoon did the trick after NOTHING else worked. Kept him busy for at least 20 minutes, yeah me.
I'm so glad I make cookies.

My favorite recipe is nothing fancy, but its our favorite
1 cup flour
1/2 C Sugar
1/2 C Brown Sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla (I add 2)
1/2 C butter
1 Egg
3/4 C oats
Choc Chips to taste (I love to use Craisins as an altnerative)
Chopped walnutes
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes
*Best enjoyed while dunking sloppily into a glass of milk, as illustrated above*

**Post update** Kim gave me the idea of putting these together into a collage, I think it would look really sweet in my kitchen someday! I could print it up really big on canvas..how fun! Thanks Kim!

Cookies are a big filler for us too. Although, I DO eat them. I eat tons of cookie dough, and then several cookies. You have had a stressful week, don't be so hard on yourself. You are a great mom. Just look at that smile on Moses' face if you ever question that!

Yum! Moses looks like he is in heaven! I am impressed that you don't eat them, I eat the whole batch before anyone else has a chance, good for you!

You have to frame that series! Those are darling pictures! They completely capture that moment. I can hear the milk sloshing. And, little Martha-I wouldn't say you're doing anything poorly. Your kids are pretty much the luckiest!

Those pictures are the best. That's probably what Steve looks like when he eats a homemade cookie, which sadly isn't more than a few times a year, when he decides to make them!! Too bad we don't live by you. I think he would be a frequent visitor...just to make sure you're doing okay!!

What a good mom! I never make cookies anymore because we have no self-control and eat all the chocolate chips before they even have a chance of becoming a cookie!

And sorry for the double comment but I meant to ask if you ever enter your pics in contests or send them in to magazines to be published?
