A photo essay is a set or series of photographs that are intended to tell a story or evoke a series of emotions in the viewer.
In trying to figure out my photography style, I have determined that I am loving the unexpected. I went outside today to try to create a photo essay of a typical, sort of ingnored object and try to capture it to evoke an emotion. I am surprised at the way I reacted when I downloaded them from my camera. If its not to weird to say, I almost feel like they each have a personality. I would never have imagined they were this beautiful. And trust me, I barely photoshopped these. I lightened them up a bit and cropped them but thats about all. And in case you are wondergin, as for the black and the grey background, I took along a black scrapbook as a backdrop but the sun made it look more grey..always learning something :)

The last one is my favorite although they are all pretty amazingly beautiful! I can't believe how great those pictures are! And, with something that we see all the time, but never really SEE! I love those pics! By the way-love the compilation of the cookie pic!
That is so cool! I feel so sad for it in the picture with the green background. Who would have guessed I would ever feel sorry for a dandelion?
thanks gals! Its funny, I felt the same way about the green one...its almost like 1 little puff away from being a gonner...I guess sometimes I feel like my days are like that..its kind of funny actually that I can relate to a dandelion.
Just dandy! I love those pictures a lot! I actually really like the one that is blowing away, it is going on a journey and starting a future posterity, very exciting! I have hundreds of those little subjects in my yard if you ever need to photograph more. :)
