When I learned tonight of Dear President Hinkley's passing my first inclination was to cry, but then I thought what a glorious meeting must be taking place tonight and I felt grateful for a prophet on the earth. I just wanted to share a few of my favorites, among many, of President Hinkleys words in honor of this beloved and wonderful man. Buddy commented tonight that it is the only prophet he has known since being baptized so its just a bitter sweet thing to think of him in fondness tonight.
"Read to your children from the scriptures. They will not understand all that you read, but they will have a feeling in thier hearts of something good and true and precious"
On being Idle:
"Without hard work, nothing grows but weeds"
On using our talents to bless others:
" I do not have to be a scrub, though my work may be menial. Though my contribution may be small, I can perform it with dignity and offer it with unselfishness. My talents may not be great, but I can use them to bless the lives of others"
On All of children of God:
" There is no need in any land for conflict between diverse groups of any kind. Let there be taught in the homesof people that we are all children of God, our eternal father, and that as surely as their is fatherhood,. there can and must be brotherhood."

I feel the same way you do. I didn't want to see him go, He's the one that has been around most of my life, atleast the life I remember, and he is so darn cute, I just always want to reach through the TV and pinch his cheeks. We have some great memories with him, and man was there a party in heaven last night, and I bet some magical emotions between him and God and his lovely wife. Man I wish I could have been there just to see that!!
