Life as a Daisy....

The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Bella is officially a Girl Scout as of this afternoon. She attended her first day with her Daisy troop at a fun fieldtrip to the fire station. She soaked it up! Bella tends to be... shall we say.... reserved in new situations. She has to know what will happen, how it will happen and when it will end before feeling comfortable, but today she was in it to win it and rolled with the flow! She loved every minute of the experiance and has talked about it all evening. I love seeing her so excited to be a part of something so traditional. And seeing her give the GS pledge made me remember my days as a Brownie, she couldnt beleive I was that young once...geez...I'm only 30 something.

They had a ceremony to present her with her pinafore. Tucked in the pocket was a note for the girl presenting her to read. Hers read "Girl Scounts care of the earth" She likes that idea

I love that she knows the pledge of allegiance. I fear that pride for your country isnt taught much anymore.

Thats my kid. in the back. behind the other girls. When the fireman came out fully dressed in all his gear, she freaked a little..I expected it..but the Daisy's had her back.

The friendship squeeze. Really cute.

To cap it off, a good squirt with a real fireman...I mean hose.

GIrl Scout!!!!!!!!!!??????????? Is there anything in the world that is cuter than that? (I'm not talking about the fireman that is helping her, although he's not bad, either). SHe is so adorable and I love that she is in scouts! She will have such a blast. Keep me posted on the things she's doing!

That is so GREAT! I have been thinking of getting O involved in such a great organization! Love the look of awe on her face, like she is trying so hard! And, Bella has great taste in firemen, too!

Oh my goodness she is getting so grown up! While I wish mine would just stay little, I guess growing up is okay when they are as cute as Bella and get to do such fun new things!

This seems too grown up! And, she knows the pledge of allegiance? You are such a fun and great mother! I think the girl scouts and their caring for the earth is just the kind of thing that this world needs! Go girl scouts!

I loved being a girl scout! Does she get to sell cookies this year? I hope that she continues to have a great time!

What fun! I never was a Girl Scout, but I think if I ever have a girl I'd want her to be one too. It's such a great program and plus you get to sell all those yummy cookies! You gotta love that! Mmmm, Thin Mints!
