Sunday Curtsy's

Isabella talked in primary today..it was so cute.

Heavenly Father has commanded everyone to be baptized. Jesus wanted to obey all of Heavenly Father's commandments. To show his obedience, Jesus was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist.

"After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.'" --Matthew 3:16-17

We learn in the scriptures that we must be baptized to live again with Heavenly Father and Jesus.

Before children can be baptized, something important must happen. We must have our eighth birthday. By the time we are eight years old we will know right from wrong. We also know how to have faith and to repent.

After we are baptized, we will be confirmed a member of the Church and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. When we are baptized, we make a special promise to Heavenly Father, and he promises us too. This special promise is called a covenant. We promise that we will remember Jesus and keep the commandments. Heavenly father promises us that his spirit will be with us.

When I turn 8, I want to be baptized because I will hear the Holy Ghost and Jesus will be happy with my choice. When I think about the Holy Ghost, I feel happy and warm feelings. I want to be baptized because Jesus wants me to.

although we obviously helped her with this talk, the last paragraph is her own words..which to me, is the best part.
